Deborah currently lives in Greensboro, Vermont in the Southern part of the Northeast Kingdom. She moved there to paint small family farms and the rural landscape. She returns to the Champlain Valley to paint there, as well. She graduated from Vassar College
in 1981 where she studied history, science and fine
art. She began painting full-time after teaching art
and photography for several years at a boarding school
in New Hampshire. Her work can be seen in several galleries
throughout Vermont and has been featured in many exhibitions.
She welcomes guests to her home gallery in the farmhouse
where she lives with her husband and four sons. |

“I have
drawn and painted since childhood. It is simply what
I like to do best. I paint every day at my studio in
town, on location or at home. I love painting outdoors
when it’s warm enough because it’s all right
there…the light, the smells, and the color.
I paint on 140lb D’Arches Hot Press paper, which
is very smooth and allows me to get the detail I want.
I use Winsor-Newton and Grumbacher tube watercolors; for
brushes, I use a blend of sable and synthetic fiber.”
